Arlene Martha Jaurequi

Arlene Martha (Chacon) Jaurequi passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 76, with her children by her side. She was born on May 21, 1949, in Sacramento, California.

A beloved mother, sister, auntie, and comadre, Arlene was the heart of a large and loving family. One of 16 siblings, she grew up surrounded by strong family roots that she carried with her throughout her life. She graduated from Courtland High School and dedicated 25 years of service to the State Department of Toxic Waste before retiring.

Arlene’s life was centered around her family. She was known for her kindness, her strength, and her unwavering love. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for.

She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Ray Jaurequi, and her grandson, Samuel Steven Jaurequi Si.

She leaves behind her children, Shelley Chacon, Jacqueline Jaurequi, Richard Carrasco, and Esther Carrasco; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
