Antonio Changco Bangoy Jr., lovingly known as Tony, passed away peacefully at the age of of 69 on May 4th, 2025, at 1:18pm in the arms of his devoted wife, Susan, at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento, California.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Bangoy; his two daughters, Vanessa Ann Bangoy and Sophia-Lynn Barrick Bangoy; and his cherished grandson, Antonio Bangoy Diaz III. He also leaves behind several adopted children and many extended family members who were deeply touched by his love and generosity.
Born in the Philippines, Tony lived a life full of adventure, compassion, and unwavering generosity. He began his career as an airline steward, a role that nurtured his love for travel and his natural gift for connecting with people from all walks of life. Later, he settled in San Jose, California, where he transitioned into the billiards industry. There, he found not just a career but a community.
in 1984, he begun his journey in entertainment industry at California Billiards. In 1994, he set roots at the renowned and iconic Edgie's Billiards in Milpitas, California, a beloved local institution where friendships were made, and stories were shared. He worked in the industry with passion and dedication until his retirement in late 2020.
Known for his genuine nature, Tony was a man who embraced the simple joys of life. He was an avid fisherman, an outdoor enthusiast, and someone who found beauty in both learning and teaching. A thoughtful listener and a man of intellect, Tony had a gift for conversation always willing to lend an ear or share a story and that's what truly drew people to him. HIs humbleness and unwavering willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Tony's life was a beautiful example of kindness, resilience and love. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kind heart, adventures spirit, fantastic sense of humor, and the quiet wisdom be so feely shared. Tony will be profoundly missed and forever remembered. HIs legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he gave so generously.
