Anna Douvea Papajohn

Anna (Douvea) Papajohn passed away on November 28, 2021. Anna was born in Athens, Greece on December 31, 1934 to Georgios Douveas and Malamo Mavromixalis.

While visiting relatives in San Francisco, California, Anna attended a dance in Sacramento where she met her future husband, Mr. Peter Papajohn. They married days later in 1964, settling in Sacramento, CA. They were married for 51 years until Peter’s death in 2015.

Anna was a kind, loving, and generous lady who enjoyed welcoming all into her home and had a laugh that would warm your soul.

Anna worked at California Middle School in the cafeteria for 26 years. She also owned and operated Anna’s Alterations on 24^th Street for many years. She is survived by her daughters Tasia Papajohn and Maria Papajohn-Katsandres (Athan), and her grandchildren James and Anna, whom she loved dearly and many family and friends.

Trisagion will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Noon at Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 9165 Peets Street, Elk Grove, CA 95758.

Interment to follow after Makaria (Memorial Lunch) at East Lawn Memorial, 4300 Folsom Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95819.
