Forever in Our Hearts
Angela Jean De Herrera passed away on November 2, 2022. She was 35 years old.
Angela was born September 13th, 1987, in Sacramento, California. She resided in Elk Grove, CA and was the oldest of three daughters to Rosa De Herrera and Frederick De Herrera. She was a daughter, sister, cousin, friend, and nurse.
Angela was an ambitious soul and achieved so much in her short lifetime. She graduated high school in Sacramento from Valley High School in 2005. She then went on to Los Rios College to graduate with an associate degree in Social Studies. At a young age, she knew she had a passion for taking care of others and aspired to become a nurse. She received her Nursing Assisting Certificate in 2010 and went on to get an associate degree in Registered Nursing (RN) at Los Medanos College in 2015. In 2017, she was achieved her Bachelor of Science degree in Registered Nursing (RN) at California State University San Marcos. She entered school once more to become a Physician’s Assistant at UC Davis Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and graduated with her master’s degree in 2022. Her plan was to change the healthcare industry for women and minorities.
While achieving her dreams in school, Angela became a CNA in 2012 and began a job in a care center for the elderly. She then went on as a Patient Care Technician for Kaiser where she assisted with patients. She was always there for her patients as she was a sensitive human with a kind heart. In 2017, she worked as a PACU RN for Pediatrics and in 2018, she began to work as an RN where she reviewed labs and assisted with educating and counseling patients while simultaneously working with patient care and practicing procedure.
Angela loved her family and friends. She always wanted to know how you were doing and was only a call or text away. She would come to your aid if she knew you needed help with anything. She was a social butterfly who had the ability to make new friends – everyone loved her. She had an appetite for life and loved going camping, to the beach, or on trips to the snow. Anything you wanted to do; she was grateful to be doing it along with you.
Angela is survived by her parents Rosa and Frederick and younger sisters Marie and Sophia.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 2nd, 2022 at 2pm at East Lawn Elk Grove.
