It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Amy Jolene Findlay, who passed away on November 3rd, 2025 at her home in Foothill Farms (Sacramento County), California.
Amy was born on October 10th, 1973 in Redding, California, to Joyce Faye Borden and Stanley Ralph Borden. Amy grew up in Cottonwood, graduating from West Valley High School in 1991. She attended Shasta College for one year. Amy married Robert Findlay in August 1992 and moved to the Sacramento area.
In addition to raising five children, she held various jobs throughout her life, including babysitting her brother’s kids, managing Northwest Galleries at Arden Fair Mall (a store owned by her brother and sister-in-law), working as a certified bra fitter for a maternity store, working as a bank teller, bookkeeping for two churches, and providing home childcare. Amy worked as an Avon representative from 2010 to 2025, including operating as a team leader/recruiter for several years. Amy was a parent volunteer at Foothill Oaks Elementary beginning in 2006 and began her beloved Choir Club in Fall of 2011. Amy began working as a paid Foothill Oaks employee doing yard/noon duty in 2020, and she began a career as a Paraeducator at Foothill Oaks in 2023.
Amy’s hobbies included making jam with friends, sewing, crafting (including using her Cricut machine to make custom T-shirts), singing, hanging out at the beach and hiking on family vacations, and cooking for/hosting gatherings at her home.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Joyce; her brothers, Ralph and Brian; and her sister/niece Angela.
Amy is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Nathan, Laura, Timothy, Elizabeth, and Julia (Chris); her grandson, Zion; her sisters, Lynnette, Barbara, Beverly, and April; her Auntie Boo (Beverly); her mother-in-law Lynda; her sisters-in-law Karen and Karen; her brother-in-law Mac; and many nieces and nephews.
Amy will be remembered for her abiding faith in Jesus; great friendship and wise advice; Foothill Oaks Choir Club; a commitment to serving her community; her excellent cooking; doing the good that was in her hand to do; and celebrating her children’s accomplishments.
