Alec Patrick Wiegel
March 18, 1963 — January 26, 2025
Sacramento
With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of our dear
brother Alec on January 26, 2025, in Sacramento, California. Alec spent his
lifetime in the Sacramento area attending local schools, including
Federico’s School of Cosmetology.
During his younger years Alec would spend his days outside riding his bike
everywhere, always looking for the next exciting adventure. His favorite
pastime was enjoying his spot along the American River: fishing, rafting the
San Juan Rapids, and skiff boarding. In 1989 he competed in the Eppie’s
Great Race, go team Highlander! He soon added hunting to his list of
outdoor activities when he joined the families’ annual, “Men’s Only Deer
Hunting” camping weekend. As an avid chef he loved watching Channel 6
cooking shows; always looking for tips on how to cook that perfect meal.
He took pride in his homegrown tomatoes from “Alec’s Garden” and the
eggs for his breakfast from his beloved chickens.
Alec received his cosmetology license in 1982 from Federico’s
Cosmetology School. Afterwards he began working at Lester’s Hair and
Skin where he continued to learn how to run a business. A few years later
he became an independent hairstylist and began his own business. In 1990
an exciting opportunity presented itself to Alec when he was hired as the
Creative Hairstylist for the Sacramento Kings Fast Break Dance Team from
1990 - 1994. He passionately spent the past 42 years doing what he loved,
and was blessed with co-workers and clients that became a part of his
family.
Alec’s infectious dimpled smile, along with his kindness and thoughtful
ways will forever be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sisters Cindy Voges (Brian), Edythe “Edy” Hanna
(Kyle), brothers Mark, John, Norman, and David (Hope). He also leaves
behind numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, as well
as many loving friends. Alec was preceded in death by his parents, Henry
and Edith Wiegel and his little sister, Lisa.
Services will be private and held for immediate and extended family.
A casual Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Friday, April 25th, at
1:00 pm, at Cindy and Brian’s home. Please join us to share memories and
stories of Alec’s life.

Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital in Alec’s
memory.
“When I get where I’m going on the far side of the sky, the first thing that
I’m going to do is spread my wings and fly. When I get to where I’m going
and I see my Makers face I’ll stand forever in the light of His amazing
grace. I’ll leave my heart wide open I will love and have no fear. When I get
where I’m going they’ll be only happy tears. When I get to where I’m going
don’t cry for me down here”.
