Alberto Rabacal Reyes

August 7, 1940 — November 1, 2025

Elk Grove

Alberto Rabacal Reyes, age 85, of Elk Grove, California, was called to heaven on Saturday, November 1, 2025. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Al was born on August 7, 1940, in Manila, Philippines. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 62 years, Delia Domecillo Reyes; daughter Trisha Louise Nagao; son-in-law Eric Nagao; and grandson Ryan Mitsuhiro Nagao. He is also survived by his sisters Iluminada Reyes Balcita, Lolita Reyes Bassig, Normita Reyes Diaz, and Susan Reyes Taylor; brothers Conrado Rabacal Reyes and Jorge Rabacal Reyes; as well as many nieces, grandnieces, nephews, and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bonifacio Castillo Reyes and Elvira Rabacal Reyes, and siblings Ernesto Reyes, Thelma Reyes, Purificacion Reyes Balcita, Mario Garcia Reyes, Rizalina Reyes Clark, and Edgard Rabacal Reyes.

A longtime resident of California, Al lived primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, which gave him the opportunity to live in places such as Texas and Iceland. Following his military service, Al enjoyed a successful 40-year career in the IT industry as a systems analyst, computer programmer, and manager. He also ventured into entrepreneurship, co-owning a restaurant with his brother Jorge before returning to his IT profession.

Throughout his life, Al pursued many passions. In his younger years, he enjoyed boxing, kung fu, and tennis. Later, he found joy in camping, deep sea fishing, golfing, and working out at the gym. He also loved playing pool and poker, and relaxing with action, western, and war movies. A proud and loyal San Francisco sports fan, Al cheered enthusiastically for the 49ers, Giants, and Warriors.

Al’s greatest joy, however, was traveling with his family and friends. He frequently took his wife and daughter on day trips around the Bay Area and vacations throughout the U.S., including Oregon, Hawaii, Washington, Nevada, Florida, Wyoming, and Canada. Later, he explored destinations around the world—the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, and Asia—with one of his most memorable journeys being a three-week visit to Japan.

Al was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He was deeply loved by his family and will be remembered for his happy, easygoing nature, his sense of humor, and his gift for making others laugh. His kindness, generosity, and warm smile touched everyone who knew him.
