Albert "A.J." Giamugnani

After a long battle with cancer,  loving husband, father, and grandfather Albert Jay Giamugnani (Known as “A.J.” to those who loved and cherished him) passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on April 6, 2024 in the comfort of his home in Folsom, CA surrounded by family and friends.

A.J. was born to Albert Isdore Giamugnani and Barbara Kilmer, on June 8, 1968, in Sacramento, CA.  He is preceded in death by his mother Barbara and step-mother Judy Kist. He is survived by Melodie Hass, his spouse of 21 years; son Andrew Giamugnani (Melissa); sisters Andrea Giamugnani (Jimmie) and Sherrie Vierra (Jim); and his two grandchildren Hartley and Ashton.

A.J. attended Hiram Johnson, Elk Grove High Schools and Folsom Lake College. He retired from The State of California as a fleet analyst after 15 years of service.  Prior to working for the State of California, he helped to beautify South Sacramento County as a 9-year Park Maintenance Worker with the Southgate Recreation and Park District. Early on in his career, he was owner of a security company and Floor Manager with Payless Drugs, Inc.

A.J. was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to his Buffalo Bills and Oakland A’s.  He was a wine connoisseur who enjoyed cooking and barbecuing for family and friends; traveling; watching movies and game shows; and attending concerts and plays.  He had a gift for making others feel welcome and loved to joke with family and friends.  He had a huge heart and his sense of humor and endearing personality will be dearly missed.
