Aileen Margery Davis (née Garvin) passed away peacefully in Vacaville in the loving company of her surviving children. She was born in Hollister to John and Elizabeth (Lumsden) Garvin and was raised there and in Gilroy. She met the love of her life, Edmond L. Davis, while working in the same bank in Vallejo. They were happily married for 77 years until his passing in 2019. They shared 3 daughters, Cynthia Schoepf (died 2023), Sharon Smith, and Barbara Simer, 2 sons, Earl Davis and Randy Davis, 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Evelyn, and is survived by her brother John. Aileen occasionally worked in banking and as a bookkeeper, loved to sew, and was an active member of Geneva Presbyterian Church in Modesto. She volunteered for many organizations over the years, including Calvin Presbyterian youth group, Girl Scouts, band boosters, and, as a breast cancer survivor, she provided support for over 20 years to other women through Reach to Recovery. Aileen will be remembered for her devotion to family, sharp mind, strong will, and deep enjoyment of laughter and good conversation. Viewing is on October 31 at 9:30 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park at 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, after which she will be laid to rest with her beloved Ed at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon at 1:15 p.m.
